This job opening is for a part-time Housekeeper in the Ambulatory Services division located at Texas Children’s Hospital in Sugar Land, Texas. The position offers a flexible part-time schedule with shifts from Monday to Friday between 10:30 PM to 1:30 AM, and weekends from 8:30 PM to 11:30 PM. Candidates will be paid between $13.00 and $13.50 per hour. The role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of ambulatory healthcare facilities, including restrooms, patient and exam areas, procedure rooms, and other specialty zones. Housekeepers play a critical role in disinfecting and sanitizing surfaces using the provided chemicals, dusting and polishing furniture, cleaning windows, and ensuring proper alignment of room items. Responsibilities also include floor care such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning carpets and upholstery. The position requires managing waste disposal, including handling biohazardous materials, replenishing supplies such as soap and paper towels, maintaining cleaning equipment, and adhering to security protocols involving alarm systems.

To succeed in this role, candidates should have prior housekeeping experience, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a commitment to high standards of safety and cleanliness within a healthcare environment. Job Duties

  • Disinfects surfaces with provided chemicals
  • dusts and polishes furniture and fittings, vents, window sills, and ledges
  • cleans reception glass and entrance windows
  • moves chairs, stools, waste, linen, biohazardous bins, small equipment on wheels, scales, and other items for proper cleaning
  • realigns items according to recommended layout
  • cleans floors including sweeping, dusting, mopping, and vacuuming
  • performs carpet spot cleaning and upholstery spot cleaning
  • collects and disposes of general trash and biohazardous waste
  • performs routine cleaning on general trash and biohazardous waste containers
  • replenishes soap, sanitizer, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, and other items
  • maintains equipment, tools and storage areas in clean and orderly operating condition
  • works with alarm systems to arm and disarm
  • performs other duties as assigned
