Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or cleaning standards
- Basic knowledge of cleaning principles and equipment use
- Ability to see minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas
- Upper body strength to lift up to 50lbs continually
- Finger, hand and upper body dexterity to push, pull and move equipment and furniture
- Ability to work with arms raised above head for extended periods
- Ability to maneuver maid cart weighing up to 50lbs throughout work day
- Experience with basic residential cleaning equipment and commercial washers, dryers and pressers
- Tolerance for exposure to hazardous chemicals
- Capacity for prolonged strenuous physical activity in indoor environment
- Passion for people and service
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to complete written paperwork and log issues
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

- Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles and use of cleaning products
- Ability to read written instructions and computer printouts
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- Strong problem-solving, reasoning, motivating and training skills
- Customer service focused with a friendly and courteous demeanor
Job Duties
- Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, sets up cleaning cart with supplies, constantly maintains carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion
- Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways, often using ladders or stools to clean hard to reach areas
- Washes shower walls and tub, cleans toilets and stall walls if applicable, wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sinks and walls to ensure clean and sanitary guest and public restrooms
- Replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities and restocks literature
- Washes all hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas
- Dusts and polishes all furniture, fixtures and wall hangings including vents and ceiling corners
- Strips bed of all linen and remakes with fresh linens, checking bedspread, blankets and bed pads for cleanliness
- Checks closet for cleanliness, wiping door, handle and shelves, restocking guest supplies
- Vacuums rooms, public areas and hallways, moving heavy furniture to vacuum entire carpeted area
- Inspects door and window locks and reports any unsafe situations
- Inspects room equipment such as TV, lights, and faucets to ensure proper working order and reports deficiencies
- Secures and maintains custody of equipment, keys and supplies at all times
- Maintains friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Assists laundry department with retrieval, sorting, washing, drying, folding and distributing linens
- Cleans patio and balcony areas by sweeping, hosing floors, wiping furniture and fixtures, and picking up garbage
- Provides assistance to other employees and departments to ensure best overall performance of hotel
