Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- or any combination of training and experience providing required knowledge, skills and abilities
- prior experience cleaning and maintaining buildings preferred
- must have current government issued identification
- must be able to access reliable transportation

- ability to perform duties with awareness of district requirements and school board policies
- knowledge of school policies, procedures and operations
- ability to demonstrate proper maintenance and safe operation of equipment, materials and supplies
- ability to maintain high standards of accuracy
- ability to complete work independently without direct supervision
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, co-workers, students, and the public
Job Duties
- Supports and upholds the mission, vision and strategic goals of the school district
- interacts, communicates and collaborates with all stakeholders effectively
- establishes a safe, supportive, positive and productive working and learning environment
- operates general office and technology equipment needed for daily activities
- maintains confidentiality regarding all employee and student information
- participates in all professional meetings and training sessions as required
- requests and maintains materials needed for daily responsibilities and essential functions
- maintains the cleanliness of assigned schools and facilities
- conducts housekeeping duties such as cleaning rooms, restrooms, replenishing supplies, cleaning water fountains, mopping and waxing halls, sweeping and vacuuming floors, washing windows and blinds, dusting, cleaning staircases, cleaning cafeteria areas and teacher lounges
- completes district-wide asbestos awareness training and participates in local facility asbestos awareness activities
- empties garbage and trash containers regularly and keeps containers clean and sanitary
- performs light yard work and assists with building and grounds maintenance including outside cleaning
- knows locations of all electrical, gas and water cut-off locations
- assists with preparing classrooms for closing and building closure
- utilizes effective energy practices such as turning off lights in unoccupied spaces
- posts warnings and signs for hazards such as wet floors and wet paint
- operates housekeeping equipment and tools like vacuum cleaners, mops, brooms, buffers
- mixes and applies cleaning chemicals properly
- uses protective equipment as required
- attends safety data sheets and chemical use safety training
- performs other duties as assigned
- wears required safety goggles, gloves, non-slip shoes and other protective equipment based on task nature
