As a Housekeeper at Mera City Center, a prestigious Active Adult community operated by Sparrow, you will play a vital role in ensuring an exceptional experience for community members. This full-time role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout the property. Your work will directly impact the daily lives of residents aged 55 and above, supporting an environment where they can enjoy comfort, security, and a true sense of home. This position involves routine cleaning duties, managing inventory, assisting with make-ready processes for vacant units, and fostering positive relationships with the community to encourage satisfaction and retention. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be physically capable of performing cleaning duties including lifting, carrying, and maneuvering weights up to 50 pounds with assistance
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with community members
  • Commitment to safety and company policies

Job Qualifications

  • Professional or previous experience working in a similar role
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience in housekeeping preferably in lease ups, multifamily housing, Active Adult, or hospitality environment desired
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills
  • Passionate about making a difference in others’ lives
  • Devoted sense of accountability and solution-oriented
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work a regular Mon - Fri schedule and nights, weekends, and/or holidays when required
  • Ability to physically access all exterior and interior parts of the property and amenities
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights up to 20 pounds independently and 50 pounds with assistance

Job Duties

  • Maintain the integrity of all physical structures, meet safety standards, and ensure a well-maintained living environment for community members, visitors, and team members
  • Ensure the community meets the company’s standards for show quality by daily inspecting community
  • Anticipate, identify and resolve housekeeping issues in a timely manner
  • Develop strong personal relationships with our community members and achieve high community member satisfaction and promote retention
  • Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, polishing floors, vacuuming carpets, rugs, draperies, dusting and polishing fixtures and fittings, cleaning metal fixtures, disposing trash hygienically, washing windows, breaking down boxes, and watering plants
  • Assist in the make-ready process by cleaning, inspecting, and freshening vacant apartment homes and targeted show units
  • Monitor and maintain a clean work area, inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Practice proper safety techniques and immediately report any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, injuries, accidents, or other safety issues
  • Provide hospitable and high-quality service to ensure a memorable experience for all
