Job Description

The role of a cleaning staff member at Cascadia Healthcare is pivotal in ensuring that the facility remains a hygienic and pleasant environment. This position involves maintaining cleanliness in resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, bathrooms, and other parts of the facility to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. The cleaner is responsible for safely using and storing cleaning solutions, adhering to infection control protocols, and managing infectious waste according to regulatory standards. Punctuality and consistent attendance are essential to keeping the environment consistently well-maintained. Additionally, employees must adhere to the company’s Code of Business Conduct, aligning their behavior with professional and legal standards. The cleaning staff member will communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other staff members, contributing to a cooperative and compassionate atmosphere. A key element of this role is to take pride and ownership in the condition of the facility, helping to establish a welcoming environment where residents and visitors feel comfortable and secure. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred
  • Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the job
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, family members and facility staff
  • Knowledge of infection control techniques
  • Ability to be patient and polite

Job Duties

  • Cleans and sanitizes resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, bathrooms and other areas of the facility
  • Safely mixes and uses cleaning solutions and stores in a secure area
  • Labels and removes infectious waste bags and containers
  • Ensures punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts
  • Performs other tasks as assigned
  • Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards
