Job Description
HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof is a leading extended stay hotel chain known for delivering exceptional quality and comfort to its guests. We are currently seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join our team with a starting wage between $16 and $17 per hour, dependent on experience. In this role, the Housekeeper will be instrumental in maintaining the cleanliness and appeal of our hotel rooms and public areas, ensuring every guest enjoys a pristine, comfortable, and welcoming environment. The Housekeeper is responsible for a wide range of cleaning tasks, including changing linens, thorough cleaning and sanitation of bathrooms and other surfaces, and using appropriate cleaning chemicals following OSHA standards. This position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to adapt quickly to different tasks, ensuring timely and efficient service.
The Housekeeper will also act as an important point of contact between guests and hotel management, communicating room status, maintenance issues, lost and found items, and any discrepancies between room checkouts and stayovers. Maintaining guest confidentiality and hotel data security is critical in this role. The company encourages cross-training in related job functions such as laundry and front desk duties, which promotes broader skill development and career growth opportunities.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where every detail counts. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, demonstrate excellent communication skills in English, and maintain a professional appearance in the HomeTowne Studios uniform. The role requires the ability to work in non-climate controlled areas and to switch tasks frequently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer service. Previous experience in hotel cleaning or a similar hospitality role, along with customer service experience, is preferred but not mandatory.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year preferred in hotel cleaning or similar experience
- 1 year in previous customer service position
- ability to maintain professional appearance in uniform
- ability to work in non-climate controlled areas

Job Duties
- Welcome guests with friendly greeting and smile while performing all guest related services
- Remove and replace dirty linens and terry, change and make beds
- Thoroughly clean bathrooms, sinks, fridge, floors etc
- Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces/areas according to OSHA regulations and HomeTowne's requirements
- Communicate with front desk about room information, maintenance cards, lost and found items and any discrepancies between stayovers and checkouts
- Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data
- Perform self-room inspections and accepting feedback from room quality inspections performed by hotel management and trained team members
- Cross train in laundry, maintenance and/or front desk job functions, if possible
- Performs all other duties as assigned
