Job Description

The YMCA is currently seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join its Facility team on a part-time basis during evening hours. Reporting directly to the Director of Property Management, the Housekeeper will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the YMCA facility. This position is instrumental in ensuring that locker rooms, restrooms, hallways, courts, and other common areas are kept clean and sanitary to provide a pleasant environment for all members and guests. The Housekeeper will also be responsible for replenishing necessary supplies, handling trash disposal, and responding promptly to any housekeeping emergencies that may arise during their shift.

This role requires a keen eye for detail, a commitment to high standards of cleanliness, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The Housekeeper must be able to prioritize tasks efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards. Physically, the position involves performing labor-intensive tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and moving furniture or equipment as necessary. Job Requirements

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Prior housekeeping experience
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • The ability to successfully perform job functions independent of daily supervision
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple priorities
  • Ability to solve problems proactively and identify priorities
  • Attention to detail of work
  • Should have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be willing to perform physical labor
  • Lift and carry 25 pounds
  • Move furniture, materials, supplies, and equipment
  • Must complete successful criminal background check and drug screen

Job Duties

  • Maintain clean, pleasant, and appealing locker rooms and restrooms for all members and guests
  • Fill and maintains paper towel and soap dispensers throughout facility
  • Sweep, scrub and mop all interior hallways
  • Sweep and damp mop racquetball courts
  • Vacuum carpeted areas, entrance mats and lobby rugs
  • Sweep and mop stairwells
  • Clean glass entrances to facility
  • Takes all trash to dumpster as needed
  • Clean light fixtures throughout facility
  • Address any emergency spills or housekeeping needs
  • Gives notice to supervisor of supplies to be ordered
  • Assume all other duties assigned by Director of Property Management
