Courtyard by Marriott Philadelphia Valley Forge is a distinguished hotel located in Wayne, Pennsylvania, part of the globally recognized Marriott International portfolio. Marriott International is renowned for its commitment to exceptional hospitality, quality service, and inclusive work culture. Courtyard by Marriott specifically caters to business travelers and guests seeking comfort, convenience, and a welcoming environment. This particular location upholds the high standards for which Marriott is known, blending modern amenities with attentive guest care and a focus on creating memorable experiences for all visitors.

Courtyard's mission is to provide a guest experience that meets the diverse needs of travelers, offering thoughtfully designed spaces and services tailored to enhance business and leisure stays. Their team is passionate about delivering superior customer service, and they emphasize ongoing professional development and inclusive team dynamics. Working at Courtyard means being part of a respected brand that values diversity, innovation, and exceptional service.

The role open at Courtyard by Marriott Philadelphia Valley Forge is a part-time, non-management position within the Engineering and Facilities department. This job is geared toward candidates interested in performing preventative maintenance and general upkeep across guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces. The work schedule includes evening shifts and weekend availability is preferred, providing flexibility suited for part-time employment.

As a member of the team, the successful candidate will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks such as mattress flipping and inspection, furniture assembly, thorough cleaning behind and beneath furniture, spot cleaning carpets and upholstery, dusting, minor touch-up painting, and ensuring all in-room hardware and appliances are functional. This role also involves repairing grout and caulking, replacing light fixtures, and conducting minor repairs like tightening loose toilet seats and changing light bulbs. Additionally, the job requires general cleaning of various guestroom surfaces, including tubs, wall tiles, floors, walls, windows, and mirrors.

The maintenance associate is responsible for promptly reporting any serious maintenance issues, unusual findings, or safety hazards to supervisory staff, underscoring the priority Marriott places on safety and operational excellence. Adherence to all company safety and security procedures is mandatory, along with completion of required safety trainings and certifications. The role demands physical stamina to perform tasks that involve reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and moving objects up to 50 pounds independently, with assistance for heavier items.

In addition to technical duties, the position emphasizes the importance of a professional appearance, confidentiality of proprietary information, and fostering a courteous, guest-centered atmosphere. Associates are expected to welcome guests according to Marriott’s hospitality standards and anticipate guest needs. Collaboration and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues are also essential to support common goals within the team.

Courtyard by Marriott values applicants with a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and less than one year of related work experience. While supervisory experience is not required, a willingness to learn and adapt is crucial. This opportunity offers a chance to develop maintenance skills in a supportive environment, contributing directly to guest satisfaction and hotel quality standards.

Marriott International promotes an equal opportunity workplace where diversity and inclusion are celebrated. They welcome candidates from varied backgrounds and are committed to non-discrimination on any protected basis, making this role ideal for individuals seeking a respectful, dynamic working environment within the hospitality industry.
