The role of Housekeeper within this community living facility encompasses a variety of critical tasks essential to maintaining the interior cleanliness and overall sanitation of the community and residents' apartments. This is a hands-on, dynamic position that involves cleaning, organizing, and ensuring that all areas meet set hygiene standards. Responsibilities include general housekeeping such as vacuuming, dusting, cleaning of common areas including entryways, dining areas, hallways, and patios, as well as resident apartments. Detailed tasks within apartments involve cleaning refrigerators, checking heating system filters, changing beds and linens, and ensuring that linen supplies are adequately stocked. The role also requires deep cleaning efforts periodically, focusing on sensitive areas like carpets, windows, light fixtures, and decorative items. Efficient laundering of linens is part of daily duties, alongside strict adherence to company sanitation and safety protocols.

Additionally, the Housekeeper role extends to service responsibilities that involve greeting residents and guests with warmth and professionalism. The position requires serving beverages, cereals, soups, and salads directly from a service cart, offering excellent customer service at all times. Housekeepers take meal orders, serve meals and desserts, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of trays to residents who require room service. Post-meal duties include clearing dishes, sanitizing tables and chairs, vacuuming carpets, and completing various side work tasks such as replenishing consumables and cleaning equipment like coffeemakers. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Ability to multitask and handle physical duties
  • Knowledge of sanitation and food safety procedures
  • Customer service experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
  • Communicate effectively in English with employees and residents
  • General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices
  • Ability to retain orders up to four at one time
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Basic computer skills

Job Duties

  • Provide general housekeeping for both the Community as a whole and individual resident apartments
  • Vacuum, dust, and clean main entryway, common areas, dining room, hallways, patios, and resident apartments
  • Clean and defrost refrigerators as needed and check heat system filters
  • Change bed and linens and ensure adequate linen supplies in each apartment
  • Perform deep cleaning of apartments and pay attention to carpets, plants, pictures, railings, windows, and light fixtures
  • Launder all linens by washing and drying in laundry facilities
  • Follow company sanitation and safety procedures
  • Greet residents and guests with a smile to serve beverages, cereals, soups, and salads from cart
  • Review menu, take orders, and serve meals and desserts
  • Return cart to kitchen and assist with storage of perishable items
  • Deliver trays to resident rooms as needed
  • Bus and clear dishes and sanitize tables and chairs
  • Vacuum carpets and complete side work such as filling sugar holders and cleaning coffeemakers
