Job Requirements
- High school diploma preferred but not required
- Proven experience in housekeeping or facility maintenance
- Ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment safely
- Knowledge of chemical handling and disposal
- Physical capability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks
- Availability to work evening shifts from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Willingness to work full-time or part-time hours
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as custodian, janitor, maintenance assistant or in a similar role
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
- Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
- Familiarity with basic landscaping practices
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness
- Very good physical condition and strength
- High school diploma preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture, and dusting surfaces
- Sweep and mop floors and clean carpets
- Wash and sanitize toilets and sinks and restock disposables such as soap and paper towels
- Wipe mirrors and windows
- Maintain outer premises by washing windows, picking up garbage, and cleaning entrances
- Report any major or minor damages to Facilities Manager
- Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks such as shoveling snow from the sidewalk, occasionally lifting heavy items, and moving chairs
- Assist in the daily upkeep of laundry utilizing commercial size washers and dryers
- Utilize a floor auto-scrubber to clean and sanitize the hospital floors
