Job Description

Era Living is a leading senior living provider committed to enhancing the quality of life for older adults through compassionate care and exceptional service. Established with a strong values-based approach, Era Living fosters a culture defined by integrity, credibility, consistency, and a strong team orientation. Recognized as the "Best in the Pacific Northwest - Senior Community" for 2023, 2024, and 2025 by the Seattle Times, Era Living continues to set industry standards through its dedication to delivering enriching living experiences in a variety of community settings. Situated in Seattle, WA, the University House at Wallingford Community is one of Era Living's flagship residences, offering a supportive and comfortable environment where seniors can thrive with personalized assistance and engaging activities.

The role of Housekeeper in the University House at Wallingford Community is a vital position within the housekeeping team. This is a full-time opportunity with competitive pay ranging from $21.30 to $23.30 per hour and includes a rich benefits package. The shifts are scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, making it a position that balances consistent hours with meaningful work.

As a Housekeeper, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the residents and staff. Your responsibilities will extend to day-to-day cleaning and disinfecting using proper procedures and solutions to ensure sanitation standards meet both company and healthcare regulations. This includes the cleaning, washing, polishing, sanitizing, and disinfecting of furnishings, fixtures, and floors throughout the community. Your role contributes directly to the health and safety of senior residents, promoting their comfort and wellbeing in the community.

In addition to the hands-on housekeeping duties, success in this role requires strong communication skills, the ability to follow directions accurately, and competence in scheduling tasks efficiently to meet stringent deadlines within the allotted time. Familiarity with healthcare-related housekeeping and laundry functions is beneficial, as is the ability to adhere strictly to safety regulations to protect yourself and others.

Era Living invests heavily in the wellbeing of its employees. The benefits package offered with this role is comprehensive and designed to support financial security, health, and work-life balance. This includes medical, vision, and prescription drug plans, a dental plan, life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and flexible spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care. The 401(k) retirement plan features a generous company match, subject to eligibility, which helps employees plan for a secure future.

Employees also benefit from a progressive vacation package starting at seven days per year, paid holidays including double pay for holidays worked, and paid sick time accrual based on hours worked. Additional perks such as an Employee Assistance Program, longevity bonuses, employee discount programs, and pre-tax election commuter benefits demonstrate Era Living's commitment to rewarding service and supporting daily needs.

This role offers more than a paycheck; it offers an opportunity to be a valued member of a community dedicated to enhancing seniors' lives. If you are someone who enjoys hands-on work, meets the qualifications, and values a workplace with both purpose and professional support, applying to Era Living as a Housekeeper could be a great career step.
