Job Description

This role is specifically for a Housekeeper position within the community, tasked with upholding these cleanliness standards across both common areas and individual resident apartments. The housekeeping role is integral to the overall resident experience, requiring attention to detail, a courteous approach, and commitment to safety procedures. The scope of responsibilities includes regular cleaning duties such as vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing entryways, dining rooms, hallways, patios, and apartments. Additionally, the role involves more specific tasks such as cleaning and defrosting refrigerators, checking heating system filters, changing bed linens, and ensuring linen supplies are adequately maintained.

Beyond routine cleaning responsibilities, the Housekeeper is expected to perform deep cleaning when needed, focusing on areas prone to dirt accumulation like carpets, plants, windows, and light fixtures. Laundry duties are also part of the job, requiring the washing and drying of linens using on-site facilities. To ensure compliance with policies and safety standards, the Housekeeper must follow company sanitation and safety protocols consistently.

Moreover, the role encompasses server responsibilities, including greeting residents and guests warmly at each table, taking meal orders clearly, serving meals and desserts, and managing the meal service cart. After meal service, the Housekeeper is responsible for bussing and sanitizing tables and chairs and resetting the dining area for the next meal. Additional tasks such as filling sugar holders, replenishing creamers, cleaning the coffeemaker, and possibly delivering trays to resident rooms are part of the daily duties.

This position requires a combination of strong organizational skills, effective communication in English, and the ability to manage time efficiently. Basic literacy and numeracy skills are essential, as is a general knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices. The ability to remember multiple orders simultaneously and possess basic computer skills also contribute to success in this role.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred

Job Duties
