This role is for a part-time Housekeeper at Caltech, a position dedicated to maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of guest rooms and public areas within the institute's hotel operations. Working under the direct supervision of the Director of Hotel Operations and Membership, the housekeeper plays a vital role in ensuring that guests experience a welcoming and impeccably maintained environment. This position is part-time regular and eligible for overtime, with shifts varying from four to eight hours and scheduled seven days a week, including evenings as necessitated by business demands. The housekeeper will be responsible for replenishing linens, towels, and room supplies, processing laundry, sanitizing surfaces, and promptly addressing guest requests to enhance their overall experience.
The housekeeper will also stock restrooms and guest rooms with necessary amenities, patrol lobby and entrance areas for cleanliness, and perform regular inspections of rooms to verify their functionality and presentation standards. The role demands physical stamina for lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, as well as strong communication skills for effective interactions with guests and co-workers. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds repetitively throughout the day
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to bend, squat, twist, lift, push, and pull frequently throughout shift
- Available to work various shifts as well as overtime and weekends as needed

Job Duties
- Responds promptly to customer's requests
- Stocks lobby restrooms with appropriate amenities such as soap, towels, toilet paper, and seat covers during events
- Patrols front entrance, lobby, and adjacent areas for litter, dirty glasses, trash, etc.
- Works evenings as coat check as needed
- Maintains guest rooms and public areas in a clean and orderly condition
- Replenishes linens and collects/disposes of soiled linens according to protocol
- Sanitizes surfaces including counters, mirrors, toilets, floors, and other areas according to standards
