The position of Housekeeper is vital within our community as it directly impacts the cleanliness and sanitation of both public spaces and private resident apartments. This role requires individuals who are detail-oriented, reliable, and courteous, as they will be interacting with residents and guests regularly. The Housekeeper will carry out a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties, including vacuuming, dusting, cleaning entryways and common areas, and attending to the specific needs of resident apartments such as changing linens, cleaning refrigerators, and maintaining heat system filters. Additionally, the role extends to providing deep cleaning services as necessary and laundering all linens within the community.
Beyond cleaning responsibilities, the Housekeeper also takes on server responsibilities during meal times, greeting residents and guests with a friendly demeanor and assisting in the serving of beverages, meals, and desserts. This multifaceted position requires excellent communication skills, a strong sense of organization, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. The Housekeeper will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in dining areas by bussing tables, sanitizing surfaces, and performing side work such as replenishing supplies and cleaning equipment.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred
- able to follow detailed instructions
- physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
- dependable and punctual
- good interpersonal skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
- effective communication in English with employees and residents
- general knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices
- ability to retain orders up to four at one time
- strong organization and time management skills
- basic computer skills
Job Duties
- Provide general housekeeping for both the community as a whole and individual resident apartments
- vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning the main entryway, common areas, dining room, hallways, patios, and resident apartments
- clean and defrost refrigerators as needed
- change bed linens and ensure adequate linen supplies in each apartment
- turn mattresses as necessary with assistance
- empty waste baskets
- provide deep cleaning of apartments as needed
- launder all linens using provided laundry facilities
- follow company sanitation and safety procedures
- greet residents and guests at each table
- serve beverages, cereals, soups, salads, meals, and desserts
- return cart to kitchen and assist with storage of perishable items
- deliver trays to resident rooms if needed
- bus and clear dishes from tables after meals
- reset tables and chairs following proper sanitizing procedures
- vacuum carpets in dining areas
- complete side work such as filling sugar holders, replenishing creamers, and cleaning coffeemaker
- perform other duties as assigned
