The Environmental Services department at BMH Memphis Hospital is currently seeking a full-time Environmental Services Technician to join its team. This role involves maintaining patient and non-patient care areas throughout the hospital, ensuring that they are kept in a safe, orderly, and attractive condition. The position follows a day work schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The technician is responsible for executing cleaning and disinfecting processes according to hospital standards, including a detailed 7-step cleaning process. Adherence to infection control guidelines and safety protocols forms a fundamental part of the responsibilities to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections. This position also requires the upkeep of equipment and storage areas to maintain operational readiness and workplace organization.

In the role, the Environmental Services Technician actively participates in department quality and performance improvement initiatives, fostering an environment of continuous process enhancement. The individual must demonstrate compliance with hospital policies and procedures and contribute fully to achieving the department’s goals. The job requires a combination of physical activity, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards. Training will be provided upon hire to ensure that all staff members are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills. Previous housekeeping experience is beneficial, and a minimum education level equivalent to completion of four years of high school or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
