Job Description
The Colorado Convention Center is a premier event venue located in the heart of Denver, Colorado. Renowned for its vast exhibition space and state-of-the-art facilities, it hosts a wide array of events ranging from conventions, trade shows, concerts, and public gatherings. The center is not only a cornerstone for business and entertainment in the city but also offers an inviting workplace environment where employees are valued and encouraged to grow. As a major employer in the area, the Colorado Convention Center emphasizes employee well-being through comprehensive benefits and competitive compensation structures.
The facility is currently seeking a Housekeeper to join its Housekeeping Department. This is an hourly, non-exempt position that reports directly to the Housekeeping Manager and Housekeeping Supervisor. The role focuses on maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility to ensure an outstanding experience for all visitors and staff. The Housekeeper will be assigned tasks that involve routine cleaning and maintenance with detailed guidance from supervisors to handle both routine and occasional non-routine duties. Work quality is reviewed consistently to uphold the center's high standards.
Compensation for this role is set at $21.38 per hour, with certain duties potentially subject to prevailing wage laws, which may alter the pay depending on the assigned responsibilities. The position operates on the third shift, from 10:30 pm to 6:30 am, which supports the center’s continuous operation and maximizes efficiency in maintenance during off-peak hours.
This position plays a crucial role in the operational success of the Colorado Convention Center by promoting a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Responsibilities include cleaning floors, hallways, restrooms, offices, and public spaces using various methods such as vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, mopping, and scrubbing. The Housekeeper also ensures the replenishment of restroom supplies, proper disposal of waste, and may assist with recycling efforts such as baling cardboard. Beyond physical cleaning tasks, the role demands that employees work effectively under changing priorities, demonstrate strong communication with supervisors and other departments, and uphold high standards of customer service.
The Colorado Convention Center provides an excellent employment package including a $500 signing bonus with an additional $500 after 90 days of employment, generous paid time off and holiday pay, and health-related insurance benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage. Employees are also eligible for a 401(k) investment plan with employer matching contributions, healthcare reimbursement plans, life insurance, disability coverage, and an RTD Eco Pass for sustainable commuting. Further benefits include tuition reimbursement and an employee assistance program that supports personal and professional development.
Overall, this Housekeeper role is ideal for individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy being part of a dedicated team, and want to contribute positively to a dynamic, public-facing environment. Successful candidates will thrive in a workplace that values respect, diversity, and continuous improvement, all while performing meaningful duties essential to the daily operations of one of Denver's most iconic venues.
