The Housekeeper role at Parc Communities is a critical position within the Building Services department, reporting directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor and Building Services Director. This non-exempt position comes with a competitive hourly wage of $16.00, reflecting the company’s commitment to fair compensation. The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness and sanitary conditions of community areas, public bathrooms, and resident apartments according to a regular housekeeping schedule. This role involves cleaning, sanitizing, and laundering linens to uphold the high standards of hygiene and comfort expected at Parc Communities.

Housekeepers at Parc Communities must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, paired with patience, compassion, and a friendly demeanor to effectively interact with older adults and their families. The job requires someone who is well-organized, efficient, and capable of completing assigned tasks in a timely manner. Additionally, knowledge of OSHA-MSDS sheets, fire safety, and infection control procedures is essential to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff alike.

Physical demands for this role include the ability to lift items up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive motions such as bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling, and have the mobility to walk and stand for extended periods throughout the community. Working conditions may vary, with duties performed both indoors and outdoors and potentially in inclement weather. The Housekeeper must also be prepared to work weekend shifts as needed and maintain professionalism and composure when dealing with emotionally upset residents or visitors.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift or move furniture, cleaning equipment, and supplies on a frequent basis
  • ability to bend, kneel, stoop, reach, push, and pull for cleaning purposes on a repetitive basis using proper body mechanics
  • mobility to sit, stand, walk, and tour the community by foot
  • must be able to climb and descend stairs
  • working hours as agreed with the Housekeeping Supervisor and/or Building Services Director
  • weekend duty can be expected
  • working conditions both indoors and outdoors with potential exposure to inclement weather
  • ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds using proper body mechanics
  • neat appearance, adherence to dress code and good personal hygiene
  • ability to establish and maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, residents, families and visitors
  • maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents and community operations

  • tolerance for exposure to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors

Job Duties

  • Regular scheduled cleaning of the common areas and resident apartments
  • launder residents’ flat linens
  • clean, sanitize and wash all public and community areas, including public toilets
  • follow the cleaning schedule provided by the Housekeeping Supervisor or General Manager
  • wash windows as needed
  • maintenance of safety and safekeeping of all toxic and/or corrosive chemicals used in housekeeping functions
  • maintenance of housekeeping inventories of cleaning supplies, paper supplies and cleaning equipment
  • advise management of any concerns in resident units
  • proper handling of refuse and waste of the facility
  • perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor, Building Services Director or General Manager
