The Housekeeper role at J&P Hospitality/Asset Management is essential in ensuring that all guest rooms and common areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. This on-site, non-exempt position reports directly to the General Manager and involves no direct reports. The Housekeeper is responsible for deep cleaning vacant rooms and maintaining occupied rooms, particularly for extended-stay guests. This role demands a keen eye for detail, as well as the ability to follow established property standards consistently. Housekeepers replenish room supplies, manage housekeeping carts, and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly. The position requires physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting heavy items, bending, and maneuvering through various parts of the property. The Housekeeper must adhere strictly to safety procedures, including proper use of cleaning products and personal protective equipment, to maintain a secure environment for both guests and staff.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience a plus but not required
  • Ability to read and follow instructions in English
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
  • Employment is subject to E-Verify verification
  • Maintain a professional appearance and deliver service in line with company values
  • Be punctual, dependable, and available to work scheduled shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays with flexibility to support additional coverage when needed
  • Follow all safety, security, and operational procedures as trained
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and company data
  • Demonstrate adaptability in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Work as part of a team and support shared property goals
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb stairs for extended periods during a shift
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 25 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Must be able to use hands and arms for sweeping, mopping, wiping, and other repetitive tasks
  • Must be able to detect odors such as smoke, gas, or strong cleaning chemicals
  • Must have vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus
  • May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, odors, dirt, dust, and varying indoor or outdoor temperatures
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Duties

  • Clean guest rooms according to property standards including floors, bathrooms, kitchenettes, and furnishings
  • Perform deep cleans on rooms after guest departure including all surfaces, linens, and appliances
  • Replenish linens, towels, toiletries, and other room supplies
  • Remove trash, clean floors, dust surfaces, sanitize bathrooms, and restock housekeeping carts
  • Report room maintenance issues, safety concerns, or damages to the General Manager
  • Ensure housekeeping carts and storage areas are kept organized and secure
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of common areas as assigned including hallways, stairwells, lobbies
  • Follow all safety procedures including proper use of cleaning products and PPE
  • Perform other job duties as assigned
