Currently, Friendship Village of Bloomington is seeking dedicated individuals to join their Environmental Services team. This role is ideal for those who enjoy working in a dynamic, supportive environment and want to contribute to the wellbeing of senior residents. The position is available both full-time and part-time, primarily during the first shift. The starting pay rate ranges from $16.32 to $18.12 per hour, with an overall pay range of $15.33 to $21.07 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

The Environmental Services team is crucial in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment for residents. Key responsibilities include cleaning assigned resident homes and common areas, disinfecting washrooms, cleaning floors, and dusting. Team members are also responsible for properly handling residents' belongings to ensure they are cleaned, organized, and stored appropriately. Additionally, the role requires timely preparation of rooms following resident transfers, discharges, or moves to ensure smooth transitions and readiness for new occupants.

Maintaining the work cart in an organized and stocked state is essential, with strict adherence to labeling and storing chemicals safely. Team members must lock the work cart while unattended in common areas to ensure safety and compliance with standards. Following infection control and isolation guidelines when cleaning isolation rooms is imperative to protect residents and staff.

Job Duties

  • Clean assigned resident homes and common community areas to include cleaning and disinfecting washrooms, cleaning floors and dusting
  • Deliver appropriate care of residents' belongings for purposes of cleaning, organizing, and storing
  • Execute timely cleaning duties when a resident has been transferred, moved out or discharged, and prepare rooms quickly and efficiently for new occupant
  • Always maintain an organized and stocked work cart while ensuring that chemicals are properly labeled and stored, and the work cart is locked when in common areas or while unattended
  • Follow cleaning practices for isolation rooms using appropriate infection control and isolation guidelines as indicated by department cleaning procedures
  • Initiate request for supplies and equipment needs to supervisor, as well as confirm chemicals are labeled and stored correctly
  • Adhere to safety and infection control standards while delivering cleaning services
