The position offered is a full-time Housekeeper role responsible for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all residents and staff. The Housekeeper will have designated areas to clean according to established policies and procedures, including both public areas and individual resident apartments. This role is essential in keeping the community welcoming and hygienic, contributing directly to resident satisfaction and health standards. The Housekeeper's duties range from daily cleaning of public restrooms and emptying trash to deep cleaning vacated apartments to prepare for new residents. They will also assist occasionally with exterior window washing and meal service support. The role requires a person who is attentive to detail, reliable, and committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of the residents.

In addition to the routine cleaning tasks, the Housekeeper must observe and report any concerns regarding resident well-being or maintenance needs to supervisors promptly. This responsibility helps maintain a high standard of care and responsiveness within the community. The position requires adhering to confidentiality policies to protect residents’ privacy regarding any verbal or written information encountered during the workday. Job Requirements

  • Must be age 18 or older
  • able to lift arms above head to reach and clean shelves, ledges, and windows

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • experience with cleaning occupied apartments, hotel cleaning, or long-term care facilities
  • promote teamwork in providing services to residents
  • familiar with general cleaning procedures
  • willingness to learn and help others
  • enjoyment in working with older adults

Job Duties

  • Clean common areas as scheduled
  • clean occasional stains or spots, as needed
  • clean public restrooms daily
  • wash windows in public areas quarterly or more often, as needed
  • clean designated apartments weekly as directed
  • deep clean all vacated apartments to prepare for the next resident
  • assist with exterior window washing twice a year
  • ensure a safe living environment for residents
  • report concerns or observation about residents to supervisor
  • report needed supplies and/or equipment repairs to supervisor
  • respond to requests from residents and staff promptly and efficiently
  • empty trash containers on a regularly scheduled basis and as needed
  • assist in serving meals and/or bussing tables, as needed
  • attend staff and in-service meetings
  • report any on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs
  • maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, community operations and personnel
  • other duties as assigned
