The Housekeeper role at J&P Hospitality is crucial for maintaining the outstanding quality and hygiene standards expected in the hospitality industry. This position, reporting directly to the General Manager, is a on-site, non-exempt role that plays an instrumental part in delivering clean and well-maintained guest rooms and common areas. Housekeepers are responsible for both routine upkeep and deep cleaning activities, ensuring that all rooms meet property standards after guest departure and during extended-stay intervals. The employment entails physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, standing, and climbing stairs, while adhering to strict safety protocols involving cleaning products and personal protective equipment. The role's main objective is to support the property operations department by contributing to a safe, sanitary, and hospitable environment that meets the expectations of guests and company values alike.

Job Requirements

  • Maintain a professional appearance and deliver service in line with company values
  • be punctual, dependable, and available to work scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with flexibility to support additional coverage when needed

  • must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb stairs for extended periods during a shift
  • must be able to lift/move up to 25 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • must be able to use hands and arms for sweeping, mopping, wiping, and other repetitive tasks
  • must be able to detect odors such as smoke, gas, or strong cleaning chemicals to help maintain a safe environment for guests and staff
  • must have vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus
  • may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, odors, dirt, dust, and varying indoor or outdoor temperatures
  • must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous housekeeping or janitorial experience a plus but not required
  • ability to read and follow instructions in English
  • must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship

Job Duties

  • Clean guest rooms according to property standards
  • perform deep cleans on rooms after guest departure
  • replenish linens, towels, toiletries, and other room supplies
  • remove trash, clean floors, dust surfaces, sanitize bathrooms, and restock housekeeping carts
  • report room maintenance issues, safety concerns, or damages to the General Manager
  • ensure housekeeping carts and storage areas are kept organized and secure
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of common areas as assigned
  • follow all safety procedures, including proper use of cleaning products and PPE
  • perform other job duties as assigned
