Covenant Living is a renowned organization operating a nation wide family of Continuing Care Retirement Communities dedicated to providing exceptional senior living experiences. Recognized for its compassionate care and commitment to enhancing quality of life for older adults, Covenant Living offers a range of services that support residents' independence, health, and well-being. The company emphasizes a community-oriented environment, focusing on safety, dignity, and respect for each resident while maintaining high standards of facility maintenance and service delivery. Covenant Living’s mission to serve older adults with excellence, empathy, and integrity has established it as a leader in the continuing care retirement community sector, known for its supportive atmosphere and comprehensive care programs.
The Housekeeper role at Covenant Living is an essential position responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of the campus facilities to ensure a welcoming and healthy environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position involves performing cleaning functions in accordance with established schedules, departmental standards, and infection control guidelines to uphold the community’s standards. Duties include routine cleaning inside and outside designated areas, floor maintenance through sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing, as well as removing trash and recyclables to maintain the campus’ tidiness. The Housekeeper also addresses minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, fixing toilets, and replacing batteries, contributing to the smooth operation of the campus.
Additional responsibilities encompass project cleaning tasks including walls, ceilings, vents, and light fixtures to ensure all areas are thoroughly maintained. The Housekeeper plays a vital role in supporting resident comfort by participating in linen management, assisting with resident moves during transfers or discharges, and making beds in guest rooms or residences when required. Equipment upkeep is another key aspect, with the Housekeeper responsible for maintaining cleaning tools and reporting any necessary repairs. The role demands keen observation to identify and report maintenance needs related to facilities, furniture, and fixtures, ensuring timely intervention to prevent larger issues.
This position may require availability on weekends and involves collaboration with other team members to manage campus snow and ice salting during the winter months. The Housekeeper must demonstrate dependability, organizational skills to manage daily cleaning schedules, effective communication in English, and the ability to follow instructions independently. This role is designed to support Covenant Living’s commitment to creating an orderly, clean, and safe environment where older adults can thrive. The compensation for this position ranges from $11.76 to $14.00 per hour, reflecting consideration of qualifications, experience, and other factors. Full-time employees benefit from a generous package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, 403(b) with employer match, and various voluntary benefits. Covenant Living is an equal opportunity employer, fostering diversity and inclusion in its workplace.
