Job Description

The hiring establishment is a remote camp operation specializing in providing safe, clean, and sanitary living and working environments for its personnel. This facility supports remote workforces, often found in industries such as resource extraction, research, or large-scale projects in isolated locations. The camp prioritizes health, safety, and the wellbeing of its occupants by maintaining well-kept accommodations, sanitation facilities, and common areas. The company values environmental stewardship, safety compliance, and operational efficiency, making it a reliable employer that fosters teamwork and professional development in a unique and challenging setting.

This seasonal housekeeping position is essential in ensuring that the camp facilities remain clean, safe, and sanitary throughout the working season, which typically runs from April to October. The role is part-time or full-time based on rotational scheduling to accommodate staffing needs during peak periods. The housekeeper will work directly with the housekeeping team to perform daily cleaning, restocking, and sanitization tasks that support efficient camp operations. This includes sweeping, mopping floors, washing walls, laundering linens, and sanitizing restrooms and showers according to established policies. Safety is a paramount concern, with responsibilities including participation in safety meetings, conducting job hazard analyses, and adhering strictly to site safety procedures.

In addition to general housekeeping duties, the role demands a proactive approach to inspecting sleeping tents, offices, and common spaces while ensuring confidentiality and security of personal accommodations. Housekeepers assist occasionally with cleaning in other areas such as kitchens, core shacks, and vehicles, requiring flexibility and teamwork. The ability to properly use sanitization products targeted for specific tasks is crucial to maintaining the health standards necessary in the camp environment. Candidates are expected to demonstrate good judgment, discretion, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, dynamic setting.

This position is tailored for individuals with prior housekeeping or janitorial experience, preferably those who have worked in remote camp settings and understand the unique challenges posed by such environments. Physical stamina and adaptability are important, as the role involves standing, walking for long periods, and lifting loads typically around 30 pounds, often in varying weather conditions. The housekeeper must have the ability to read and interpret Safety Data Sheets, labels, and instruction manuals, and accurately maintain logs and notes. This opportunity is ideal for those seeking seasonal work that combines physical activity, teamwork, and contributing to a safe and supportive community in a remote location.
