We are currently seeking a dedicated Room Attendant/Housekeeper to join our housekeeping team under the supervision of the Head of Housekeeping. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of guest rooms and public areas throughout the hotel. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service and cleanliness. Room attendants are responsible for ensuring that all rooms are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, including changing linens, wiping surfaces, vacuuming, and restocking supplies. They contribute significantly to creating a warm and welcoming environment that makes guests feel confident and comfortable during their stay.

The Room Attendant/Housekeeper will maintain a professional appearance while adhering to the hotel’s strict uniform guidelines and uphold the confidentiality expected within the hospitality industry. With a strong focus on safety and health, this position requires following all local, state, federal, and brand-specific health and safety guidelines rigorously. The role also involves effective communication with the Head Housekeeper and other team members to report room status, maintenance needs, and any deficiencies in room conditions.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior housekeeping or room attendant experience preferred
  • knowledge of cleaning procedures and health and safety standards
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • physical capability to perform cleaning duties
  • availability to work flexible shifts including weekends
  • commitment to adhering to all regulatory and brand guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in housekeeping or similar role preferred

Job Duties

  • Maintain a positive and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service and cleanliness
  • maintain a high level of professional appearance and demeanor, wearing the brand-approved uniform and name tag
  • maintain the highest level of confidentiality in all areas
  • demonstrate a professional sense of urgency while cleaning guest rooms and public spaces, consistently meeting budgeted goals
  • clean and stock all guest rooms as assigned including linens, supplies, bathrooms, and furniture
  • keep Head Housekeeper informed of room status on a timely basis
  • greet guests encountered throughout the property
  • adhere strictly to all health, safety, and sanitary guidelines
  • complete training in security, alcohol, health, and safety compliance
  • follow safe chemical handling procedures
  • keep workspace and equipment clean and organized
  • work in an organized fashion following step-by-step cleaning processes
  • observe and report deficiencies in furniture, walls, carpet, and appliances
  • keep communication open within the housekeeping department
  • participate in daily and staff meetings
  • adhere to key control guidelines
  • assist in quarterly, spring, fall, and annual cleaning duties
  • turn in lost and found items per company procedure
  • assist in training new staff
  • support a positive and enjoyable work environment
  • understand hotel products and services
  • perform other duties as assigned
