The role of a Housekeeper at this property is vital to ensuring the cleanliness and comfort that keep guests returning and recommending the hotel. Housekeepers play an essential part in delivering memorable guest experiences by maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in guest rooms and public areas. This position is often referred to as the "Heart of the House" because the efforts of a dedicated housekeeping team can transform a guest's stay from ordinary to outstanding. Housekeepers are responsible not only for cleaning but also for engaging with guests, maintaining supplies and equipment, and adhering to all safety standards to protect themselves and guests. Experienced housekeepers are encouraged to grow their careers and may advance into supervisory or management roles such as Housekeeping Supervisors, Managers, or Executive Housekeepers.

In this role, employees will be tasked with engaging guests, collaborating as a team to achieve cleanliness goals, keeping work areas orderly and stocked, and ensuring thorough cleaning and sanitation of assigned areas while practicing safety and respect for guests’ property at all times. The position requires working on feet for extended periods, managing time effectively, and having the physical ability to lift and maneuver loads of at least 25 pounds. Communication skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Job Duties

  • Engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well
  • Work as a team to accomplish the goal of resort/hotel cleanliness
  • Keep work cart orderly and properly stocked
  • Proper utilization of equipment supplies and guest amenities
  • Thorough cleanliness and sanitation of assigned guest areas
  • Daily changing and inspection of linens and towels, following the standards set forth in the Green Program
  • Practice safety standards and be aware of safety hazards, and properly reporting as found
  • Respect for guests' property should always be exercised
  • Responsible care of equipment
  • Reports to work on time and according to posted schedule, to maintain accurate time records and follows proper standards for issuance of rooms
  • Remain alert, courteous, and helpful to the guests and co-workers always
  • Perform other related duties as requested by Floor Supervisor
