This full-time position as a Housekeeper at ElderOne offers a rewarding opportunity for individuals who take pride in maintaining safe, clean, and welcoming environments that support the wellbeing of residents and guests. With a work schedule from 9am to 5pm, the role is based at ElderOne in Rochester, NY, offering a competitive pay range of $16.25 to $18.43 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
The Housekeeper role at ElderOne is critical in ensuring that residential and communal areas are kept hygienic and orderly, which directly contributes to the health and comfort of all residents. The position focuses on a variety of housekeeping and home management tasks including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, laundry, and kitchen cleanup as outlined in the Housekeeping Plan of Care. The successful candidate must demonstrate keen attention to detail and a friendly demeanor, exercising respect for the dignity and rights of residents, their families, and coworkers. A key part of the role also involves recognizing and reporting any unsafe environmental conditions or notable changes in patient mental or physical state to supervisors, ensuring prompt interventions and safety.
Candidates for this position should be at least 18 years old and possess at least one year of experience in housekeeping or assisting individuals who are homebound and unable to perform these tasks independently. Effective oral and written communication skills are essential to manage documentation and interact respectfully with residents and team members. ElderOne prioritizes safety and health compliance, and the Housekeeper is expected to complete and submit activity sheets accurately and timely, following established documentation protocols. The role requires medium physical exertion, including frequent walking, standing, or squatting, and involves the ability to exert force occasionally to move objects weighing from 10 to 50 pounds. ElderOne is committed to accommodating any physical requirements reported by prospective or current employees in consultation with their medical professionals.
Rochester Regional Health, the parent organization, is committed to equal employment opportunities and embraces diversity and inclusion. The position offers a stable work environment with meaningful work contributing to the wellbeing of a vulnerable population. Employees are supported through various departmental and disease-specific training as needed to meet educational and continuing education requirements applicable to their role.
Joining ElderOne as a Housekeeper means becoming part of a trusted healthcare family that values integrity, respect, and teamwork. If you have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of older adults, this full-time position provides an excellent career opportunity with fair compensation and supportive conditions.
