Job Description

George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home is a distinguished residential care facility dedicated to providing exceptional living environments for veterans requiring long-term care. This establishment operates with a deeply-rooted commitment to honoring those who have served by providing a clean, safe, and welcoming community that fosters health, comfort, and a sense of belonging. As part of its operational ethos, the home integrates compassionate care with rigorous adherence to regulations and standards, ensuring that all residents enjoy not only excellent care but also an environment that meets the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.

The Housekeeper role at George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home is integral to maintaining the facility’s standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety. This full-time, day shift position, operating Monday through Friday, is designed for dedicated individuals who take pride in their work and desire to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of senior residents. The housekeeper is responsible for ensuring all residential and communal spaces are immaculate, sanitary, and inviting. This involves routine cleaning activities such as vacuuming, mopping, wiping, and polishing, as well as attentiveness to detail in maintaining the appearance and safety of residents' personal spaces.

This position involves more than simple housekeeping duties; it requires a conscientious professional who is mindful of the residents’ comfort and security. Duties extend to promptly addressing spills and soiled areas, safely handling equipment and cleaning agents, and strictly following infection control and safety protocols. The housekeeper plays a critical role in preserving a clean and hazard-free environment, supporting the health care team’s efforts to provide quality care.

Applicants will find this role rewarding as it blends practical housekeeping responsibilities with a compassionate mission to serve those who have given much to their country. The position also offers competitive benefits that support both personal and professional growth, such as medical, dental, life, and vision insurance, short and long-term disability coverage, and unique options like pet insurance. The employer also provides tuition assistance and career advancement courses, reflecting a commitment to employee development.

Starting wages are commensurate with experience, and employees enjoy benefits like two weeks of paid time off and access to a 401K plan. Joining the George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home team means becoming part of an organization that values trustworthiness, dependability, and excellence in service, all within a respectful and rewarding workplace environment. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy serving seniors and who bring a strong sense of hospitality and dedication to their work.
