Job Description

Brookdale is a nationally recognized senior living company dedicated to providing gracious hospitality and neighborliness to its residents and their families. With a focus on creating a home-like atmosphere and all-around comfort, Brookdale fosters an environment where residents can feel truly cared for and at ease. Known as an industry leader in clinical care, Brookdale operates an extensive nationwide network of 589 communities as of November 2025. This expansive reach allows for significant opportunities for career growth and professional advancement within the company, especially for sales professionals and those seeking roles within senior care and hospitality services. The company emphasizes a warm, supportive culture characterized by entertaining events and social gatherings that encourage connections among residents both in group settings and through one-on-one interactions. This community-centered approach helps residents maintain active, engaging lifestyles and builds strong, meaningful relationships.

The housekeeping role at Brookdale is essential in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and welcoming appearance of resident apartments and community spaces. Housekeepers play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operation of each community by ensuring all areas are hygienic, orderly, and conducive to a comfortable living experience. Duties include cleaning floors, dusting, trash removal, sanitizing restrooms, and public areas, and occasionally shampooing carpets and deodorizing to uphold high standards of cleanliness. This role also entails responding promptly to resident emergencies related to room sanitation and consistently logging cleaning activities in accordance with company policies.

This position is not just about maintaining physical spaces but also involves interacting with residents and guests with friendliness and respect. Brookdale values housekeepers who bring a positive, courteous attitude, which contributes greatly to the overall atmosphere of care and hospitality that defines its communities. As part of the Brookdale team, associates gain access to a full suite of benefits tailored to both part-time and full-time employees. Benefits include various health, dental, and vision insurance options, retirement plans such as 401(k), employee assistance programs, and flexible spending accounts. In addition, Brookdale encourages continuous learning and professional development through robust training programs and tuition reimbursement options. The company also actively supports veterans, transitioning military personnel, and military spouses, offering unique benefits like assistance with naturalization fees for qualified associates.

Brookdale is recognized for its commitment to diversity and inclusion, having been named one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity by Newsweek in 2024 and 2025. The company maintains a drug-free workplace environment and encourages applications from a broad spectrum of candidates committed to upholding the values of hospitality and community care. With a compensation package that includes a competitive base pay plus team-based bonuses, Brookdale offers a rewarding and meaningful work environment for those passionate about making a positive impact in senior living communities. Temporary associates have access to some benefits and retirement plans but are ineligible for full benefits. All associates contribute to and benefit from an inclusive workplace culture where making a difference in the lives of others is the core mission.
