Job Description

Eastern Plumas Health Care is a well-established, non-profit critical access hospital nestled amidst the scenic beauty of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Serving Plumas County since 1971, the institution prides itself on delivering comprehensive medical services across a broad spectrum, which includes an acute care hospital facility in Portola, complete with a 24-hour, physician-staffed emergency room and ambulance service. The organization's outreach extends further through four primary care clinics located in Graeagle, Greenville, Loyalton, and Portola, along with a dedicated dental clinic. These diverse healthcare centers collectively offer residents a full continuum of care within this rural mountain community. Additionally, Eastern Plumas Health Care operates hospital-based Skilled Nursing Facilities in the Portola and Loyalton areas, emphasizing their commitment to providing ongoing care and rehabilitation services to the community.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Housekeeper to join our team on a full-time basis. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall environment of our hospital and clinic settings, which are vital to the health and safety of patients, staff, and visitors. This role offers competitive hourly wages ranging between $17.13 and $19.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being of our employees.

As a Housekeeper at Eastern Plumas Health Care, you will be responsible for ensuring that patient rooms, restrooms, public areas, and offices are cleaned thoroughly and kept in a sanitary condition in compliance with state and federal regulations. Duties include cleaning, disinfecting, dusting, mopping, trash removal, replenishment of supplies, and the proper handling and disposal of bio-hazardous materials. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to established safety procedures including correct use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, managing isolation precautions by using proper color-coded liners, and maintaining housekeeping storage areas. By performing these essential tasks, the Housekeeper helps create a welcoming and safe environment that supports high standards of care and patient comfort.

The position demands physical capability including frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Careful use of cleaning equipment such as mops, brooms, and microfiber cloths is also necessary. The successful candidate will possess good communication skills, be able to follow written and verbal instructions, and demonstrate a basic understanding of safety standards related to environmental service work, such as Title 8 Life Safety regulations and knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

This is a fantastic role for someone seeking to make a positive impact in a healthcare setting within a supportive and community-focused organization. The Housekeeper will be an integral part of the facility's daily operations, contributing to the health and safety of patients and staff while enjoying the benefits of a stable, full-time job in a breathtaking natural setting. Eastern Plumas Health Care not only offers competitive pay but also provides a positive workplace culture along with opportunities for career growth and personal development. If you are dedicated, reliable, and attentive to detail, and you thrive in a role that supports the well-being of others, we encourage you to apply and become part of our healthcare family.
