Job Description

This position is with a community-focused residential establishment dedicated to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all residents. The company prioritizes comfort and well-being by maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the community spaces as well as within individual apartments. The role of Housekeeper is vital to the daily operations of this community. The individual fulfilling this role will be responsible for comprehensive housekeeping duties covering both public areas of the community and the personal living spaces of individual residents. This includes routine tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning entrance areas, hallways, dining spaces, patios, and apartments. Additional responsibilities involve specialized cleaning activities like defrosting refrigerators, checking and cleaning heating system filters, changing bed linens, turning mattresses, and ensuring ample linen supplies. The role also requires performing deep cleans when necessary, focusing on areas such as carpets, railings, plants, pictures, windows, and light fixtures to maintain a pristine environment.

An essential aspect of the position includes laundering all linens utilizing onsite laundry facilities and consistently following strict sanitation and safety protocols established by the company.

This role extends beyond housekeeping to include server responsibilities within the community’s dining services. The housekeeper will greet residents and guests warmly, serve beverages and meals, take orders attentively, and handle the logistics of serving and clearing tables efficiently. Responsibilities here also encompass maintaining cleanliness in dining areas by bussing tables, sanitizing surfaces, vacuuming carpets, and undertaking side work such as refilling sugar holders and cleaning coffee machines. The housekeeper must be adaptable and willing to perform other related duties as assigned.

This position demands a friendly, organized, and reliable individual capable of managing time effectively and communicating clearly in English with both employees and residents. Basic computer skills and knowledge of safe food-handling practices are also necessary, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards at all times. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous housekeeping or food service experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Job Duties

  • Provide general housekeeping for community and individual resident apartments including vacuuming and dusting
  • Clean main entryway, common areas, dining room, hallways, patios
  • Clean and defrost refrigerators and check heating system filters in resident apartments
  • Change beds and linens and ensure adequate linen supplies
  • Perform deep cleaning of apartments focusing on carpets, plants, pictures, railings, windows, and light fixtures
  • Launder all linens using provided laundry facilities
  • Follow company sanitation and safety procedures
  • Greet residents and guests and serve beverages, cereals, soups, and salads
  • Review menu, take orders, and serve meals and desserts
  • Return serving cart to kitchen and assist with storage of perishable items
  • Deliver trays to resident rooms if needed
  • Bus and clear dishes from tables and sanitize tables and chairs
  • Vacuum carpets in dining areas
  • Complete side work including filling sugar holders, replenishing creamers, and cleaning coffeemaker
  • Perform other duties as assigned
