- housekeeping and/or general maintenance experience
- ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
- dependability and common sense
- ability to organize daily cleaning schedule
- ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- ability to work within standard policies with limited supervision
- interest and desire to work with older adults
- may require availability on weekends

Job Duties
- Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedule and using departmental standards and infection control guidelines
- complete minor maintenance including light bulbs, plunge toilets and change batteries as needed
- perform cleaning tasks inside and outside as scheduled
- maintain all floors including sweeping, dry and wet mopping, stripping, scrubbing, waxing, vacuuming, extraction, hosting and buffing
- assist in cleaning emergency spills
- perform project cleaning including walls, ceilings, vents, light fixtures and windows
- remove trash and recyclables and replace liners
- deep clean rooms and units during transfer or discharge
- move furniture and assist in resident moves
- participate in campus linen program including distributing, collecting, counting and preparing linens
- make beds in guest rooms or residences as needed
- maintain and repair cleaning equipment
- report repair needs for facilities, furniture and fixtures
- participate in receiving and putting away campus supplies
- assist in snow and ice salting as needed
