Job Requirements

Less than high school education
Less than one year experience in housekeeping
Ability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment
Knowledge of safety and infection control procedures
Ability to follow established policies and procedures
Good physical stamina for cleaning duties
Willingness to participate in educational programs and trainings

Job Qualifications

Less than one year of experience in housekeeping
Ability to operate housekeeping mechanical equipment
Understanding of safety and infection control standards in healthcare settings
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Good communication skills

Job Duties

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
Dusts furniture, woodwork, equipment
Mops floors
Polishes and cleans fixtures in all areas as needed
Wet mops rooms, halls, stairways, and public areas
Operates housekeeping mechanical equipment
Moves furniture pertaining to cleaning procedures
Buffs, strips, waxes and polishes floors
Removes waste and soiled linens from work area according to proper procedure
Performs cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares room for next occupant
Follows isolation procedures in isolation room
Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings
