Churchill Downs Racetrack (CDRT), located in Louisville, Kentucky, is world-renowned as the home of The Kentucky Derby, the longest continually held annual sporting event in the United States since 1875. Job Requirements

  • G.E.D. or high school diploma
  • up to one month related experience or training
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear
  • willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to pass monthly safety training and quizzes
  • ability to work typically Wednesday thru Sunday schedule with some evenings
  • compliance with health and safety regulations
  • ability to perform essential functions with reasonable accommodations if needed

Job Qualifications

  • G.E.D. or high school diploma
  • ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • knowledge of cleaning techniques and the use of cleaning equipment
  • ability to follow safety procedures and protocols
  • attention to detail
  • good physical stamina to handle standing, walking, lifting, and operating machinery
  • ability to work flexible hours according to racing schedule

Job Duties

  • Perform a variety of cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing throughout the facility including hallways and other public areas
  • ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to company standards
  • check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate
  • protect equipment and notify any damages to supervisor
  • sweep and clean chairs in all elevated public seating areas
  • collect and remove trash throughout interior and exterior public grounds and seating areas
  • operate electric, propane or gasoline powered equipment including power washing duties of grounds/building
  • participate in and complete monthly safety training and pass associated quizzes on time
  • be aware of rules regarding health and safety and best company related practices
  • work the racing schedule, typically Wednesday thru Sunday, including some evenings during the calendar year
