Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous cleaning experience in a hospital setting preferred
- Able to read and write
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Use of common cleaning equipment such as mops, floor waxes, and scouring pads
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
- Prolonged standing and walking required
- Must be able to work in precarious or high locations such as ladders or scaffolding
- Must comply with pre-employment screening and vaccination requirements

- Knowledge of common housecleaning implements such as mops, floor waxes, and scouring pads
- Attention to detail and adherence to safety and infection control standards
Job Duties
- Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings and equipment and mopping floors with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease
- Replenishes supplies of soap, towels, and other dispensable items
- Gathers and disposes of trash, washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers, and relines with plastic bags
- Uses damp, disinfectant-treated cloth and vacuum cleaner to dust windowsills, windows, blinds, floors, furniture, and equipment in an orderly fashion
- Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls in bathroom
- Maintains and submits orders to maintain an adequate inventory cleaning supplies
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards
- Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
