Job Requirements

  • minimum requirement to perform essential functions is a high school diploma or GED
  • preferred experience in long-term care facility
  • ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals
  • basic math skills
  • problem-solving skills
  • ability to interpret instructions
  • fluency in English

  • basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization
  • ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • fluent in written and spoken English

Job Duties

  • maintain all public and common areas including lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains and floors throughout the day
  • maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms
  • clean and remove dust, dirt or food off walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars and towel dispensers
  • empty trash cans and replace liners
  • sweep and mop floors
  • utilize proper safety measures when cleaning including use of caution signage and keeping supplies and chemicals out of reach of residents
  • use supplies and equipment safely by following user manual instructions
  • maintain housekeeping carts, equipment and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean and orderly manner
  • notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing immediately regarding resident safety issues or concerns
  • notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishing
  • demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude
  • manage time effectively
  • work independently or with a team
