Job Requirements
- Three years of hospital housekeeping experience preferred but not required
- Ability to perform light cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting
- Ability to interact courteously with patients, visitors and staff
- Must be able to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
- Ability to work flexible schedules including full-time or part-time shifts
- Must maintain a drug-free status as per company policy
- Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with housekeeping
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial services preferred
- Ability to handle cleaning equipment and chemicals safely
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and adapt to hospital environment protocols
Job Duties
- Provides quality customer service to customers by providing one-on-one attention to detail
- Sweeps, scrubs, mops and polishes floors
- Vacuums carpets, rugs and draperies
- Shampoos carpets, rugs and upholstery
- Dusts and polishes furniture and fittings
- Cleans metal fixtures and fittings
- Empties and cleans trash containers
- Disposes of trash in a sanitary manner
- Cleans wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers
- Wipes down glass surfaces
- Makes up beds and changes linens as required
- Realigns furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout
- Responds to guest queries and requests
- Responds to calls for housekeeping problems, such as spills and broken glasses
- Contributes to team efforts
- exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow associates and others
- Performs other duties as assigned
