Job Requirements

  • Three years of hospital housekeeping experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to perform light cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting
  • Ability to interact courteously with patients, visitors and staff
  • Must be able to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including full-time or part-time shifts
  • Must maintain a drug-free status as per company policy
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with housekeeping

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial services preferred
  • Ability to handle cleaning equipment and chemicals safely
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to hospital environment protocols

Job Duties

  • Provides quality customer service to customers by providing one-on-one attention to detail
  • Sweeps, scrubs, mops and polishes floors
  • Vacuums carpets, rugs and draperies
  • Shampoos carpets, rugs and upholstery
  • Dusts and polishes furniture and fittings
  • Cleans metal fixtures and fittings
  • Empties and cleans trash containers
  • Disposes of trash in a sanitary manner
  • Cleans wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers
  • Wipes down glass surfaces
  • Makes up beds and changes linens as required
  • Realigns furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout
  • Responds to guest queries and requests
  • Responds to calls for housekeeping problems, such as spills and broken glasses
  • Contributes to team efforts
  • exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow associates and others
  • Performs other duties as assigned
