Job Requirements

high school diploma or equivalent
ability to communicate effectively in English
ability to follow written and oral instructions
capacity to work harmoniously with others
physical ability to stand, walk, twist, bend for extended periods
willingness to work varied shifts including weekends, holidays, and emergency call-back
ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely
willingness to participate in continuing education

Job Duties

perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned
perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments
clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units in resident and recreational areas
clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures and remove water marks
clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrances
clean floors by sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting
ensure appropriate caution and safety signs are set up before duties
clean carpets including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, disinfecting
clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing
remove dirt, dust, grease, film from surfaces using proper cleaning solutions
clean hallways, stairways, and elevators
discard waste and trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacles
clean vacant rooms as assigned
ensure proper storage of equipment, tools, supplies
discard infectious wastes into appropriate containers
ensure work and cleaning schedules are followed
assure facility is maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manner
