Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

ability to follow instructions and accept constructive criticism
ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public
ability to maintain supplies, equipment, and appearance of housekeeping areas

ability to follow instructions concerning mixing cleaning compounds and disinfecting solutions
ability to communicate information concerning a resident's condition

Job Duties

perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned
perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments
clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating and cooling units in resident and recreational areas
clean, wash, sanitize, and polish bathroom fixtures and remove water marks
clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance and exit ways
clean floors including sweeping, dusting, damp and wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting
set up appropriate caution and safety signs prior to duties
clean carpets including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, disinfecting
clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing
remove dirt, dust, grease, film from surfaces using proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions
clean hallways, stairways, and elevators
discard waste and trash properly and reline trash receptacles with plastic liners
clean vacant rooms as assigned
ensure equipment, tools, supplies are properly stored
discard infectious wastes in appropriate containers
follow work and cleaning schedules closely
maintain the facility in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner
