Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
prior experience in janitorial services preferred
ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
ability to work independently and follow instructions
physical stamina to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods
ability to work indoors and outdoors
ability to work on ladders
ability to communicate effectively with staff and residents

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
previous janitorial or cleaning experience preferred
ability to operate floor cleaning machinery
basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
good communication skills
ability to follow directions and work independently
physical ability to perform cleaning duties including lifting and standing for long periods

Job Duties

Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them
gather and empty trash
service, clean, and supply restrooms
clean and polish furniture and fixtures
clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
dust furniture, walls, vents, and cabinets
mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
steam-clean or shampoo carpets
strip, seal, finish, and polish floors
follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
set up, arrange tables, chairs, to prepare facilities for events such as banquets, meetings, and special events
other related duties as directed
