Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous housekeeping experience preferred
  • ability to perform physical tasks such as sweeping, mopping, lifting and standing for extended periods
  • knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures
  • ability to operate mechanized cleaning equipment
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines
  • good communication skills
  • willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles
  • ability to use cleaning equipment and materials safely and effectively
  • good physical stamina and attention to detail
  • knowledge of cleaning methods and hygiene standards
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • strong organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Sweep, scrub, mop and polish floors
  • vacuum clean carpets, rugs and draperies
  • shampoo carpets, rugs and upholstery
  • dust and polish furniture and fittings
  • clean metal fixtures and fittings
  • empty and clean trash containers
  • dispose of trash in a sanitary manner
  • clean wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers
  • wipe down glass surfaces
  • tidy up rooms
  • wash windows as scheduled
  • operate mechanized cleaning equipment
  • maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
  • monitor and report necessary domestic repairs and replacements
  • other duties assigned by Chief of Maintenance, Assistant General Manager or General Manager
