Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous housekeeping or hospitality experience helpful but not required
- ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- willingness to adhere to strict safety and alcohol consumption policies
- commitment to American Cruise Lines' core values of optimism, commitment, patriotism, and merit
- temporary employment limited to 28 weeks
- flexibility to work aboard various vessels and travel itineraries
Job Qualifications
- at least eighteen years of age
- american citizen or green card holder
- ability to work a minimum of 12 hours per day for 7 days a week up to 28 weeks
- able to meet moderate physical demands including lifting, bending, climbing, standing, and walking
- able to pass pre-employment drug test including marijuana and other controlled substances
- comply with grooming standards including restrictions on visible tattoos and piercings
- possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
- maintain a positive attitude and work well under pressure
Job Duties
- create and maintain a clean, safe, and attractive environment for guests
- prioritize comfort and cleanliness of staterooms, facilities, and common areas
- acknowledge guests by name and respond to housekeeping-related inquiries
- vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
- organize inventory and stock linen and supplies
- clean up spills and notify management for maintenance
- collect and dispose of trash
- properly clean upholstered furniture and lounge spaces
- engage guests and efficiently cater to housekeeping requests
- assist with greeting guests during embarkation and participate in special events like afternoon tea and cocktail parties
