Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred
ability to lift or carry up to 20 pounds
capability to work indoors and outdoors
able to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods
willingness and ability to work on ladders
strong physical stamina
reliable and punctual
ability to work independently or as part of a team

previous janitorial or cleaning experience preferred

Job Duties

Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them
gather and empty trash
service, clean, and supply restrooms
clean and polish furniture and fixtures
clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
dust furniture, walls, vents, and cabinets
mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications
steam-clean or shampoo carpets
strip, seal, finish, and polish floors
follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
set up, arrange tables and chairs to prepare facilities for events such as banquets, meetings, and special events
perform other related duties as directed
