Job Description
We are a private household seeking a reliable and detail-oriented House Manager/Housekeeper to oversee the daily operations and upkeep of our residence. Our household values maintaining a clean, organized, and well-functioning environment while supporting daily routines, hosting needs, and special projects with professionalism and discretion. This position offers full-time employment, Monday through Friday, generally from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM onsite, with flexibility required for occasional evenings and weekends to support events and special hosting needs. The successful candidate will embody a calm, professional demeanor with a naturally discreet and unobtrusive presence, working quietly and efficiently to maintain high standards without needing to be asked, and consistently bringing a warm, respectful, and gracious attitude to their work.
The role of House Manager/Housekeeper is a blend of hands-on housekeeping duties and proactive household management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing exceptional cleanliness and organization throughout the residence, performing daily housekeeping with rigorous attention to detail and consistency. Responsibilities extend to managing all household laundry, including sorting, washing, folding, ironing, steaming, and proper care of delicate fabrics. Coordination of dry cleaning services is also essential, including drop-off, pickup, inspection, and proper storage of items.
In addition to the housekeeping responsibilities, the candidate will oversee household supplies and shopping, ensuring all items are fully stocked, organized, and replenished proactively. They will assist the Chief of Staff (CoS) in overseeing maintenance schedules, coordinating with various service providers such as landscapers, handymen, cleaners, and repair technicians. This includes coordinating vendor access, supervising work when necessary, and following up on completed services. Leadership of home organization projects along with managing seasonal transitions, including wardrobes, linens, and décor, is crucial to maintaining a guest-ready home at all times.
This role also includes supporting event and hosting needs, assisting with preparation, execution, and cleanup of dinner parties, gatherings, and hosted events. This involves event setup such as table settings, décor preparation, staging, and coordination with outside vendors including chefs, caterers, florists, and rental companies. The House Manager/Housekeeper will be expected to assist during events as needed by serving, replenishing items, and maintaining cleanliness, as well as handling post-event breakdown, cleaning, laundry, and restoration of the home.
Moreover, this role encompasses personal assistant and lifestyle support functions. The candidate will be responsible for running personal errands and handling ad hoc tasks like shopping, pickups, and returns. Travel preparation support, such as packing, unpacking, laundering, and organizing clothing and personal items, is also required. The role demands flexibility to provide evolving support tailored to household needs and special projects as requested by the Chief of Staff.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in private household management or related housekeeping roles
- Strong English fluency for effective communication
- Ability to work full-time Monday to Friday with flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends
