Job Requirements

  • Frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility
  • Carrying, lifting or pulling items weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Regular use of commercial cleaning chemicals
  • Willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to follow safety and operational procedures
  • Reliable and punctual work attendance

Job Qualifications

  • Some previous housekeeping experience preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English preferred
  • Other languages beneficial
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities preferred
  • Experience in extended stay hospitality preferred

Job Duties

  • Deliver on the promise of Sonesta service in all interactions with guests and clients according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards
  • Work with room attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linens
  • Deliver linens and other supplies to room attendants
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of floor closets and corridors including removing trash, wiping down shelves/counters, sweeping, mopping, and/or vacuuming floors
  • Respond to guests' requests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Clean designated areas such as public restrooms, storage rooms, and other public spaces
  • Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisor
  • Respond to special requests, guest complaints, and deliver housekeeping/room supplies to achieve complete guest satisfaction
  • Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within housekeeping
  • Deliver lost and found items according to procedures
  • Assist with deep cleaning projects regularly
  • Monitor laundry supplies and equipment when assigned to laundry
  • Operate washers and dryers following hotel standards and manufacturer guidelines
  • Receive soiled linens and inspect for damages or stains
  • Fold and store clean linens and report damages to supervisor
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through communication and coordination
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety laws
  • Perform other duties as assigned
