Job Description

The establishment hiring for this position is a reputable hotel committed to providing exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high standards of cleanliness across all public areas. Known for its dedication to guest satisfaction, sustainability, and operational excellence, the hotel offers a dynamic work environment where employees can grow and build long-term careers. With a competitive compensation range of $16.00 to $17.50 per hour, this opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking to join a hospitality industry leader that values people, service, and continuous improvement. The hotel is part of a brand that embraces sustainable practices through its EarthView program, aligning its operations with environmentally responsible principles.

The role in focus is that of a Public Area Attendant. This vital position involves maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of public spaces within the hotel to ensure guests enjoy a welcoming and hygienic environment. Responsibilities include greeting guests courteously, inspecting and cleaning all assigned public areas following the brand’s guest service and sustainability standards, and assisting with linen management and trash collection. The Public Area Attendant acts not only as the face of the hotel in the public spaces but also supports overall hotel operations during peak periods or staffing shortages by stepping in as a room attendant.

This position offers a clear growth path, with advancement opportunities to roles such as Housekeeping Supervisor, Guest Service Agent, Executive Housekeeper, or Front Office Manager. Employees in this role contribute directly to guest satisfaction by maintaining impeccable public spaces and adhering to safety and sustainability protocols. The job requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to manage physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and prolonged standing. In addition to delivering excellent service, Public Area Attendants are expected to report maintenance issues promptly and support the hotel’s commitment to safety by following OSHA standards and wearing protective equipment when necessary.

Working in a hotel environment means adapting to varied schedules, including weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts. This role is crucial in upholding the hotel's reputation for excellence and ensuring every guest’s visit begins and ends with a positive impression of cleanliness and hospitality. Employees are supported in their personal and professional growth, encouraged to take ownership of their work, and immersed in a culture centered on serving others with heart and professionalism. The hotel's philosophy emphasizes the value of its people through principles such as "People Are Our Capability," "Hearts That Serve," "Only Excellence," "Stay Nimble," and "Own It." This position is an excellent fit for a highly organized, service-oriented individual who is passionate about contributing to a positive guest experience and sustainable hotel operations.
