The role of the Housekeeper is pivotal in ensuring that all public and shared spaces within the hotel reflect these values. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining public areas in accordance with established brand and hotel guest service standards. This includes tasks such as inspecting assigned zones, performing thorough cleaning duties, managing linen collection and distribution, and ensuring trash is appropriately disposed of. This position also requires direct interaction with guests, greeting them courteously, responding to inquiries, and contributing to overall guest satisfaction.

Your work will directly influence guest perceptions and satisfaction scores, making attention to detail and an understanding of sustainability and safety practices essential. You must be prepared to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts while performing physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and walking. The role also offers opportunities for career advancement, including progressing to Housekeeping Supervisor, Guest Service Agent, Executive Housekeeper, or Front Office Manager roles. In all duties, you will adhere to safety guidelines such as MSDS and OSHA standards to ensure a safe working environment.

Job Duties

  • Greet and acknowledge guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • inspect assigned areas and perform cleaning tasks accordingly
  • collect trash from the service landings and dispose of in outside trash dumpsters
  • vacuum and dust guest corridors
  • pick up bed and other linen from hotel floors and transport to the laundry collection site
  • deliver clean linen to assigned sections
  • report maintenance issues
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of guest areas
  • respond to guest inquiries and assistance
  • work as a room attendant when staffing shortages occur or during peak periods
  • be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction
  • follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program
  • practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards
  • ensure overall guest satisfaction
  • perform other duties as requested by management
