The Sous Chef role at Hearth Pizza Tavern is a pivotal position within the kitchen, designed for a highly motivated and energetic culinary professional eager to lead and elevate the kitchen’s daily operations. As the Sous Chef, you will be a key partner to the Executive Chef, working collaboratively to oversee kitchen staff, manage inventory, control food costs, and maintain sanitation and safety protocols. - 2+ years of kitchen leadership experience
- Experience in high-volume kitchens
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong organizational skills
Job Qualifications
- 2+ years of kitchen leadership experience including roles such as Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, or Lead Line Cook
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and hold a team accountable
- Experience in high-volume, scratch kitchen environments preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen systems
- Ability to stay calm, focused, and solutions-oriented under pressure

Job Duties
- Lead daily kitchen operations and service execution in a high-volume environment
- Supervise, coach, and develop line cooks, prep cooks, and kitchen team members
- Ensure recipe consistency, proper portioning, presentation standards, and ticket accuracy
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and food cost control
- Maintain prep production levels and kitchen organization for efficient service
- Enforce sanitation, food safety, and health department compliance standards
- Assist with scheduling, labor management, and productivity oversight
- Support menu development, feature items, and recipe execution
- Step into the kitchen leadership responsibilities in the Chef’s absence
- Foster a positive, accountable, team-focused kitchen culture
