The role we are offering is that of Lead Cook, a pivotal position within our culinary team. This position demands a culinary professional capable of executing the menu crafted by our Executive Chef with precision and flair. The Lead Cook is entrusted with ensuring that every dish served meets our high standards of taste, presentation, and consistency. This role is not just about following recipes; it requires creativity, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure situations that a busy kitchen environment presents.
As the Lead Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food consistent with detailed recipe cards, beginning the preparation of food items ahead of service without overestimating needs, and ensuring all unused food items are properly stored for the next shift. Your role also involves operating kitchen and cooking equipment safely and maintaining strict cleanliness standards to comply with health regulations and our internal policies. You will play an essential role in the smooth operation of our kitchen, partnering closely with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and an unparalleled dining experience for our guests.
This position requires a high level of physical stamina as you will be on your feet for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds and performing tasks such as walking, bending, twisting, climbing stairs, and working on possibly slippery surfaces. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as the job entails working a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Job Duties
- Prepare food consistent with recipe cards
- start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to over-prepare estimated needs
- return all food items not used on next shift to designated storage areas
- operate and properly clean cooking and kitchen equipment and supplies
- maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
- collaborate with kitchen team to ensure efficient service
- follow food safety and hygiene protocols
