The Houston Marriott Westchase, one of the largest full-service Marriott hotels in Houston, operates under the umbrella of Pyramid Global Hospitality. The opportunity at Houston Marriott Westchase is for a full-time PM Busser Barback position, a vital dual role in the hotel’s restaurant and lobby bar team. The PM Busser Barback operates from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM, including weekends, holidays, and special events, playing an integral part in evening service operations. This role demands an energetic, detail-oriented, and team-focused individual capable of collaborating effectively with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of dining and bar spaces. Responsibilities include timely resetting of tables, stocking bar supplies, maintaining sanitation standards, and supporting smooth service delivery. The role enhances guests' dining experience and upholds the hotel’s high service standards and brand reputation.
Candidates can expect a dynamic and fast-paced environment requiring physical stamina to move, lift up to 40 pounds, and remain standing for extended periods. Job Qualifications
- previous experience in a full-service restaurant or similar food service environment, preferably with a hotel
- ability to effectively communicate in the English language with guests and staff
- ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- capable of moving, lifting, and carrying trays and bulk beer cases up to 40 lbs frequently
- able to move throughout hotel lobby bar, restaurant, and kitchen areas including frequent climbing up and down stairs
- able to remain standing for duration of shift
- able to extend arms with frequent reaching, twisting, pulling, bending, and stooping
- ability to work in busy restaurant environments with various noise levels and large crowds
- ability to observe and adhere to all health and safety regulations and company guidelines for food handling, cross-contamination protocols, and sanitation
- food handler certification and tabc certification required
Job Duties
- support evening restaurant and lobby bar operations by assisting servers and bartenders to ensure smooth, efficient service
- stock bar supplies including glassware, ice, garnishes, mixers, napkins, and utensils throughout service
- clear, clean, and reset dining tables promptly in accordance with hotel cleanliness and service standards
- maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, bar area, service stations, and back-of-house support areas
- assist with bar setup and breakdown before and after evening service
- monitor guest areas and respond promptly to guest service requests by communicating with servers and bartenders
- follow all hotel safety, sanitation, and food handling guidelines, including local health regulations
