Job Description

McMenamins is a well-established hospitality company known for its unique blend of restaurants, pubs, breweries, and hotels located mainly in the Pacific Northwest. The company prides itself on creating welcoming and lively environments where guests can enjoy handcrafted food and beverages, often complemented by local artwork and historic architecture. With a focus on community involvement and exceptional customer service, McMenamins offers an immersive experience for both guests and employees alike. Each location delivers a distinct charm while maintaining the company's high standards for quality and hospitality.

The role of Server at McMenamins is designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, multitasking environments and who have a passion for delivering exceptional service. Servers are essential frontline employees who ensure that every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience. From greeting customers to managing orders and payments, servers handle a wide range of responsibilities that require both efficiency and a positive attitude. This hourly non-exempt position reports directly to the Manager and requires employees to be vigilant, organized, and adaptable during their shifts.

Servers at McMenamins are expected to assist with the full operational cycle, from opening duties to closing tasks, including seating guests, taking and delivering food and beverage orders, serving alcoholic drinks, bus and clean tables, restocking supplies, and occasionally dishwashing and general cleaning. They also use point-of-sale (POS) systems to process orders and payments, ensuring accuracy in transactions and balancing receipts at shift end. The job requires physical stamina as well as mental focus to perform duties effectively in a busy atmosphere. The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team is crucial.

A key element of this role is maintaining excellent customer relations by being polite, attentive, and knowledgeable about the company’s products and events. Servers must keep up with McMenamins’ history and offerings to provide informed recommendations and engage guests authentically. Working in diverse team settings and interacting with a variety of customers demands a respectful attitude and commitment to the company’s values. Safety and hygiene practices are strictly enforced, with servers responsible for reporting any concerns promptly to management.

Overall, the Server position at McMenamins offers an opportunity to be part of a community-focused company where passion for hospitality, teamwork, and positive guest interactions are highly valued. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy a dynamic workplace, appreciate diversity, and are committed to delivering top-tier service in a welcoming environment.
